    Strategic planning process of Greater Cairo Metropolitan Area to adopt a first Greater Cairo Development Project that would identify and address selected short term infrastructure investment projects of high priority proposed by the three Governorates of Greater Cairo (Cairo, Giza, Qalyubyia), along with developing the Strategic Development Plan (SDP) adopted by Greater Cairo.

  • Landscape Design, Cairo International Airport

     

    MINISTRY OF AVIATION/CAIRO AIRPORT AUTHORITY - ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT

    Conceptual and detailed design for the landscaping of Cairo International Airport, including exterior and interior spaces. The design is a reflection of the combination of Egyptian heritage and modern, functional amenities, and is part of the overall efforts to develop and upgrade the airport that is a major air transport hub for Africa and the Middle East. The project includes the landscape designs of all spaces between the runways and other tarmac strips, the interior public spaces of the four halls of Terminal 1, as well as Terminals 2 and 3. Furthermore, the project includes other airport buildings, such as storage facilities/areas, office buildings, hangars, and service buildings.

  • Risk Assessment, Cairo International Airport

     

    MINISTRY OF AVIATION/CAIRO AIRPORT AUTHORITY/ CAIRO UNIVERSITY/ ECOLE DES MINES, FRANCE- ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT

    This project aims to provide Cairo International Airport with an in-depth analytical study of various risks and hazard possibilities arising out of normal airport operations, in defined areas and for specific processes, utilizing risk assessment methodologies, with the objective of upgrading safety and risk management, and improving efficiency. The project falls within the European Union-supported TEMPUS programme, in cooperation with Cairo University'ʹs Faculty of Engineering and the Ecole des Mines, Nancy, France.

  • RO Plant Geotechnical Study

     

    PRIVATE CLIENT - ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT

    Resistivity testing for groundwater depth and quality assessment for a desalination RO plant in Hurghada city. The assessment included groundwater depths up to 150 m for feeding the RO plant. The report also included the soil lithology for finding adequate structural and lithological water traps.

  • Geological Assessment of Natural Hazards Features, Al-Gharbaniyaat Train Station Railway Collapse

     

    HAMZA ASSOCIATES - ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT

    Structural delineation and karst features (sinkholes) hazard assessment. The study included geological hazard assessment based on resistivity and GPR testing – ground penetration radar in order to delineate areas of collapsable character.

  • Design of Solar-Powered Transport Airship

    An innovative design for a means of transportation that relies on solar energy. The airship is designed to carry 20 passengers, is environmentally-friendly and has very low running costs.

    An assessment of the environmental damages to the coastal zone and marine ecosystem caused by the dredging operations for the North Sukhna port, as required for an international arbitration case.
